I will send out an email when I have made big updates to Warblade MK II or released new test or full versions of the game. This will NOT be used for spaming!!! I hate that too !!!!
Here is a video showing the new editor in Warblade MK II. It show the creation of waves, curves and editing of curves. Aliens will move along these curves and at each curve point there can be added commands with parameters. I think a test version of the editor will be released very very soon, just to get some feedback on how it performs on different setups. Comments? Warblade is now in 9th place on the Mac AppStore arcade games chart!!! This is crazy! :-) and also 9th on highest grossing arcade game!!
This really makes me happy! :-D Wow !!!! Warblade for the Mac is now in first place in grossing arcade game in the Polish charts!!!!
This is great and almost unbelievable!!! If only this was on the iPhone and in the US market... :-P Here is a short video of the curves now working in the editor. Next is to get in editing of these curves and cloning and mirroring and resizing and rotating and .....
As soon as I have a version that is worth testing I will upload it so everyone can download it and test on their PC/Mac. iOS version and Android version will have to wait a bit for testing (at least the iOS version)
Hitm4n (my main helper on Warblade) has done a little test this evening and it was running OK on his not to powerful PC (onboard gfx chip). Not much going on in the test version either... no levels yet. But it did run at 60fps with the quality lowered a little bit from the "fantastic" setting. Edgar Well I was hit by some (Russian?) hackers today. My web site "www.emv-software.com" that I use to redirect to the webpage I have set up at weebly.com was unavailable for probably most of the day.
It is up and running again now! Hope it stay that way! Just a small update on progress on Warblade MK II using Unity3D. I have been fighting the C# language a little bit the past few days. There is no easy way to load and save data (level data) stored in a structure, in C#. Typical M$ to make something so very easy and obvious, very hard and way way over complicated.
I think I have found the solution now and have had some ideas about levels and level data. It should be possible to upload the levels to a online server and share them with other users. Maybe have a rating and rank system for levels. I have also been thinking about making a alien construction editor. You could have lots of parts to use to put together a new alien design. Parts could be animated, sized and placed around a center "body" part. It may be possible to render out the animation to say a 10- 20 frame animation arranged in a texture and use that for fast batched graphics rendering. Comments, ideas? Edgar I have started working on Warblade MK II using the Unity3D game engine and progress has been very good and I got a lot done in a few hours. This was sort of a test just to see if it was possible to do and it does seem to work OK so far.
It's so so so much quicker to make a game prototype in Unity compare to what I used before. And when I got it running on the PC I can quickly make a Mac version or iPhone,iPad,Android version. Unity also supports Linux now... I will post test version for PC/Mac here as I got more and more stuff working. I have been working a bit on a level editor inside the game now and I have already added more features to the level definitions, so more advanced levels should be possible to create. NOTE! I have started working in a new job, so my coding time is now limited to evenings and nights... I could not feed the family and do stuff with what my game company could bring in. :-( Here are some screenshots: |
